Career Summary
A Resort Manager must possess leadership and evaluation skills to handle daily responsibilities. In addition, many managers will oversee the programming (recreation, leisure and meetings) and planning of property activities. This includes updating and making new policies, and guest communications.
In preparing for this position, candidates ideally will have prior hotel experience and worked in at least one of the following departments or positions: Front Office, Reservations, Night Audit and holds a degree in Hospitality.
If you are a person who is comfortable in a highly structured environment and enjoy working in a progressive environment than management is something that will hold your interest. In addition, managers will be responsible for supervising/managing/overseeing the following departments: Front Office, Reservations, Bellman, Night Auditors.
