Career Summary

Personal trainers work in a variety of settings. Starting a career, as a personal trainer doesn't mean you'll be in a gym all day. Many trainers work in corporate gyms assisting employees before, during and after work. They may take they're clients outdoors to parks, beaches or football fields for corporate sponsored motivational events.

Fitness InstructorPersonal trainers create personalized exercise routines for their clients and train them in the proper techniques for activities such as weight lifting, walking, jogging, sprinting, and other aerobic activities. They also use a variety of methods to inspire or motivate the client to exercise and educate them on what the types of exercises actually do.

In the business world, fitness instructors and coaches are becoming part of the company. Gym memberships with fitness trainers help the company guarantee that their employees stay physically fit as well as mentally fit. As a result, fitness and sports coaches are able to build confidence in their clients by working closely with individuals, promoting goals, and assisting them to achieve their goals.

Many personal coaches progress into Lifestyle Consultants that provides services to individuals, teams and organizations with exercise, nutrition and positive life enhancing attributes to improve lives and work environments. When a person needs a new start or a new look, many people will consult a lifestyle consultant who focuses on the entire person: mind, body and spirit.
