Career Summary
Nutritionists play an important role in planning food and nutrition programs. They supervise the preparation and serving of meals to help prevent and treat illnesses by promoting healthy eating habits and recommending dietary modifications. Such modifications can include less salt for those with high blood pressure.
Nutrition does play an important role in health management. Clinical Nutritionists work with patients in determining what they are currently eating and assist in identifying a personalized plan.
While a Sports Nutrition Specialist cannot diagnose disease or provide advice on treatment of disease, they to provide dietary education and support relative to fitness, exercise, and athletic performance.
