Accounting is a great and wealthy career. It may not be an exciting one but if you have a natural talent for negotiations, account management and collaboration, then the role of account manager is your ticket to a great career. An account manager which is also known as an AM, is in charge of the company's financial matters. There are different types of Account Managers.

One type of account manager does nothing but verifies company receipts and balances financial management expenses. Other type of account manager oversee several company employee expenses in one department. Depending on the size of the company an account manager may oversee several accountants who each handle a different aspect of financial relations.

Account management professionals can be found throughout industry. Many of the qualities that you need for accounting include good communications, interpersonal skills and negotiating skills, as well as the ability to keep track of multiple expenses.

According to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Management Accounting is "the process of identification, measurement, accumulation, analysis, preparation, interpretation and communication of information used by management to plan, evaluate and control within an entity and to assure appropriate use of and accountability for its resources.
