FundraisingCharity fundraising managers are responsible for raising money for their charity in various ways. They usually have fundraising targets to reach, and must constantly think of new ways to raise as much money as possible.

They create fundraising goals and solicit funds to meet the goals by establishing communications with present contributors and identifying new donors and sponsors. They may also be responsible for developing major gift opportunities and writing grant proposals.

Fundraising managers must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. They rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and ‘outside the box’ thinking is expected.

Fundraising managers often speak to the media regarding the organization and are a vital component of events. They oversee all the details of an event such as arranging venues, entertainment and volunteers, promoting events, selling tickets and obtaining sponsorship.

Lastly, a fundraising manager will be responsible for managing budgets and reporting on fundraising performance to the charity’s trustees and donors.
