Career Summary

Exhibit Designers work in teams to design, plan and oversee the construction of exhibits and three-dimensional displays. They usually also handle the marketing materials for the exhibits which can include press kits, advertising, posters, brochures, catalogues, invitations and publicity notices.

They must be able to provide preliminary drawings of a proposed exhibit, including detailed construction, layout, material specifications, or special effects diagrams. Successful exhibit designers must have strong communication and drawing skills, and should enjoy creating information and developing innovative ideas.

Exhibit designers will communicate with clients and their staff regarding theme, interpretative or informational purpose, planned location, budget, materials, or promotion. At the exhibit they may be required to supervise the installing of the exhibit to ensure all of the specifications and special effects components are done correctly.




Requires a degree in:
