The majority of cardiovascular technologist work in hospitals, but other employment opportunities exist in physicians offices, educational facilities, medical centers, noninvasive cardiovascular laboratories, electrophysiology laboratories, and mobile diagnostic units.

In addition to testing, cardiovascular technologists ensures the procedure rooms are adequately prepared for testing and emergencies. They clean and wrap packages of instruments and will set up and operate many various types of cardiovascular diagnostic equipment to determine the extent of the disease process, injury, and/or illness.
