Career Summary

Aircraft Engineers RepairAerospace engineers operate, install, calibrate, and maintain complicated computer and communication systems for a variety of aircraft and space exploration vehicles. Aerospace engineers develop new technologies for use in air crafts, defense systems, and space craft / equipment exploration. Often they specialize in areas such as structural design, navigation and communications. Some aerospace engineers specialize in military fighter jets or helicopters and even missiles and rockets as their career progresses.

Different aerospace engineers have different types of responsibilities. While one may be responsible for the construction and maintenance of test facilities, anther will ensure that aircraft parts and systems meet specifications.

Other aerospace engineers design aircrafts and necessary equipment and than supervise the manufacture of these products. Those who work with aircraft are called aeronautical engineers, and those working specifically with spacecraft are astronautical engineers.
