The Art Institute - Leaders In Professional Creative Expression

In 1921, when America was in the whirlwind of a consumer buying frenzy and the advertising business was thriving, the Art Institute of Pittsburgh graduated commercial artists who designed billboards and magazine ads that competed for the attention of the buying public.

Though out the years the Art Institute facility and students have continued to produce amazing new works pioneering in such mediums as

  • Water cascading through projected video of Chicagoans faces
  • The Art Institute facility and students consistently push the boundaries of success which seems like magic in considering if so much success can come from an institution. However, the dedicated members thrive in better themselves and their artistic expression. Fueled by their teachers encouragement as well as by the support of the administrative staff, students continue to find that their creative river has no limits or ends. In addition, both facility and students have generously given back to the local community and across the nations. Below is just some of the important work that has been accomplished by The Art Institute facility and students.

    The Art Institute of Pittsburgh made history in January 2000 as the first post secondary career school to obtain bachelors degree granting status from the Pennsylvania State Department of Education.

    In August of 2000 The Art Institute Online was born

    The Art Institute of Atlanta multimedia & Web design student won the first-place award in the Web design portion of a national student design competition sponsored by Adobe in 2001

    In October of 2002 The Art Institute became international by opening The Art Institute of Vancouver specializing in Digital Imaging and Sound in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

    2005 Fourteen Art Institutes locations became involved in the Cook for the Cure event with KitchenAid raising funds for The Susan G.Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Art Institutes Cook for the Cure events raised nearly $10,000

    In early 2005, Bill Kilby, a staff member at The Art Institute of San Diego, rallied a group of staff and students, now know as the Gang Green Club, to create a beverage container recycling program on the California Art Institutes San Diego campus.

    August 2006 The Art Institute of Colorado student wins national industrial design competition

    June 2006 The Art Institute of Seattle - A group of five students participated in visits to The Millionair Club facility to brainstorm ideas creating a more uplifting environment for The Millionair Club Charity dinning hall which assists the homeless.

    2006 The Art Institute of Boston Lesley University was recently ranked 38 for "Best Masters Programs in the North" in the U.S. News & World Reports 2007 Edition of Americas Best Colleges.
