Health Staff Training Institute is NOT recommended for students seeking strong, valuable health care degrees.
Health Staff Training Institute Review
Health Staff Training Institute (HSTI) is a Santa Ana-based, for-profit trade school specializing in vocational health care training. Based on our research, Career-Opportunities does not currently recommend HSTI for students seeking a strong, transferable health care degree. Our review is based on a simple, online comparison between Health Staff Training Institute and other schools in its field, including the amount of information available about the facility, the type of accreditation held by the school, and other factors researchable by prospective students.
There is surprisingly very little valuable information online regarding HSTI and its programs, which makes it somewhat of a blind commitment for prospective students who wish to research a school before initiating contact with its marketing department. To be blunt, a lack of open information on an institution hints at the quality of the school's administration, though this bad first impression is not uncommon for smaller, less tech-savvy organizations. The school's short list of programs involves mostly assistant positions, and its enrollment of 40 students, as reported by 50States.com, is admittedly weak.
A short summary by EdRef.com shows that a high-school GPA is neither required nor recommended for acceptance to HSTI, nor are standardized test scores or any demonstration of competency.
Health Staff Training Institute accreditation
Health Staff Training Institute is accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, a national accrediting organization. It should be noted that HSTI does not appear to be CAAHEP-accredited, as most reputable postsecondary schools offering health care degrees are.
Health Care Training Recommendations
For students seeking a strong degree in health care in the Los Angeles area, we recommend larger, more reputable institutions such as American Intercontinental University or Everest University rather than Health Staff Training Institute.
