
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) predicts a 17.4 percent increase in college hiring in 2007. This will be the fourth straight year that new graduate hiring is expected to grow.
According to NACE's Job Outlook 2007 survey, employers list company growth, retiring employees and high job turnover as key reasons for the rise in hiring. The south (US) is predicted to have the most career openings. The study found that employers are expecting to increase they're staff by as much as 25.5 percent followed by the west coast with a 23 percent predicted increase in jobs for fresh graduates. One of the more sought after attributes will be People Skills in industries such as consulting, healthcare and retail.
Telecommuting positions is gaining more popularity with both employers and emerging professionals. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics 2004-2014 Job Outlook for College Graduates numerous occupations with significant future openings will include telecommuting.
