Be proactive - Take Responsibility For Your Own Success

Don't wait for opportunities to come to you. Seek out the many resources that can help you through the tough times.

Career success is greatly influenced by both personal qualities and skill knowledge. But people who merely criticize without offering solutions risk upsetting their career. In addition, there is a certain amount of political maneuvering required. Learn and understand the formal and informal power structures in the company.

Visualize your future - Visualizing things with images matched with emotions are a very powerful way to motivate us. Start a mental evolution leaving behind what your told can not be done and walking towards what can be done. This vision will be a very effective way to help pull you through the inevitable difficulties of making the changes you want.

Take charge of your education and career objectives! Don't count on others to provide opportunities. Develop an individual career plan to provide you with a flexible blueprint of your short and long-term professional and personal goals.

Build a strong network of positive and supporting people in your life. Seek input and alliance from friends, family, colleagues, and teachers and basically anyone who inspires you in your goals towards success.

Periodically evaluate your progress to ensure your working towards your career goals. Ask yourself what you have enjoyed about the past year and consider career options that flow from those activities.

Have a clear purpose.

Recognize that you are your own person in your own situation. Someone else may be further ahead in they're goals than you are on your own. But remember they're goals and success plan is different than yours. This means that no two paths will be alike and that means different results.

Think of yourself in the position of success, never think of yourself as "not a success yet", that is just anther way of saying failure. Simply trying and taking steps towards success, is a success.
