American Institute of Holistic Theology

Holistic Theology Studies consist of exploration of logic, ethics, moral self discipline, and the homeostatic balance of mind, body and spirit. Holistic theology studies are learning programs geared toward attaining knowledge or various degree levels in how to not only help one self but how to assist others in becoming healthy in mind, body and spirit.

Headlines such as these I found online occasionally appear to start up new controversy and debates.

  • Alternative medicine thriving at Cleveland Clinic (because it works)
  • Pharmaceutical fraud: How Big Pharma's marketing and profits come before consumer safety and wellness
  • The common cold is no match for natural healing therapies.

Holistic practices still have a lot of stereo types and misconceptions clinging to industry leaders and contributors. In general, holistic medicine treats the person as whole entity and not just the complaints of the person. To holistic practitioners, a person is a body with physical parts and systems and with a spiritual being as well. The mind and the emotions are believed to be connected to this spirit which can cause physical problems and aliments. What makes Holistic practitioners especially controversial is their belief that most if not all illnesses, diseases and physical conditions can be treated and or healed without the use of surgery or drugs.

American Institute of Holistic Theology was founded by Chester Yozwick and served as its president until 2001. Chester Yozwick fondly called Dr. Y by faulty and students lovingly sculpted each degree program one course at a time.

As a teenager and a young man, Chester Yozwick increasingly followed naturopathic approaches to holistic health. Traditional medicine only made him sicker, without easing his symptoms. Regarding his holistic health education and beliefs, he believed that the best advice was to tell people to stop making News Year's resolutions. Make life lasting changes by implementing new habits in the newness of springtime rather than in the dead of winter, when the world is hibernating. In 1991 Chester Yozwick swung open the doors of American Institute of Holistic Theology.

American Institute of Holistic Theology believes holistic theology studies teach students how to become a holistic minister or practitioner of both health and healing; and comprehensive training on how to develop a successful counseling practice.

Programs available include:

  • Divinity
  • Holistic Ministries
  • Metaphysics
  • Naturology
  • Parapsychic Studies

In addition, holistic theology studies embrace philosophies that bridge the gaps between the laws of nature and the being as a whole. Overall, by incorporating metaphysics and the explanation of spirit and the physical body, holistic theology studies use religious, yet psychological methods to explore the whole of a 'living being.'
